On the 8th February 1992, Albertville was projected into the limelight by the XVIthWinter Olympic Games - the town's name was spoken with accents from all over the world. Albertville became the meeting place for all those driven by the Olympic ideals.
During this period, the people of Albertville developed a taste and an expertise for organising different sporting events at national and international levels.
Over 10 years after the event, full use continues to be made of the Olympic facilities here.
